Everything you need to know about your Rinjani adventure with Lombok Rinjani Moment.
01. How do I book a Rinjani trekking package?
Booking is simple and secure. You can select your desired package on our website and fill out the booking form with your details. Afterward, you can secure your spot with a deposit via bank transfer or PayPal. Moreover, our team will send an official booking confirmation and preparation guide once the payment is verified.
02. What if the weather is bad during my scheduled trek?
Safety is our absolute priority. If weather conditions (such as heavy rain or wind) are deemed unsafe by the National Park authorities, we may reschedule your trek or offer alternative dates. However, we always monitor the latest BMKG forecasts. Consequently, we follow official safety guidelines strictly to ensure a secure experience.
03. Do I need to be physically fit to climb Mount Rinjani?
While Rinjani is challenging due to its steep terrain, it is achievable for most people with average fitness. Furthermore, we provide tailored support and a steady pace for all levels. Therefore, we highly recommend basic endurance training like hiking, jogging, or stair climbing for 3-4 weeks before your arrival.
04. When is the best time to trek Mount Rinjani?
The Rinjani National Park is officially open from April to December. In addition, the peak dry season occurs from June to August, offering the clearest views. Nevertheless, trekking in the shoulder months like May or November provides a more tranquil atmosphere with lush, green scenery.
05. What essential items should I pack in my daypack?
You should pack warm clothing (jacket/windbreaker), a headlamp with extra batteries, trekking poles, sunscreen, and proper hiking boots. Notably, Lombok Rinjani Moment provides all heavy camping equipment such as premium tents, thick sleeping bags, and mattresses, so you don’t need to carry them yourself.
06. Are meals and drinking water provided during the trek?
Yes, we provide three nutritious, freshly cooked hot meals every day, prepared by our talented porters. Furthermore, we supply unlimited mineral water that is carried and provided to you throughout the journey. Notably, we also accommodate special dietary needs like vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diets upon prior request.
07. What is the role of the porters during the trip?
Our professional porters carry all logistical items including tents, cooking gear, and food supplies. However, they are not responsible for carrying your personal daypack (camera, water, clothes). Optionally, if you wish to trek light, you can hire a private personal porter to carry your belongings for an additional fee.
08. Is trekking insurance included in your packages?
Yes, basic trekking insurance issued by the Mount Rinjani National Park (TNGR) is included in your trekking permit/ticket. Nevertheless, this is limited coverage. Accordingly, we strongly advise all hikers to have their own comprehensive international travel and medical insurance that covers high-altitude trekking.
09. How are the toilet facilities managed on the mountain?
We prioritize your comfort and privacy. At every campsite, we set up a Private Toilet Tent (enclosed structure with a hole dug in the ground). Consequently, you have a clean and private space to use. We also ensure the site is properly covered and cleaned before we leave to maintain environmental hygiene.
10. Can I book a trek as a solo traveler?
Absolutely! Solo travelers are welcome. You can choose a Private Package for full flexibility and privacy, or you can join our “Join Group” schedule to meet other adventurers from around the world and share the trekking costs. Check our group departure dates for more details.
11. From which locations do you provide pick-up services?
Our standard service includes complimentary pick-up from Mataram city, Senggigi area, Bangsal Harbor, or Lombok International Airport (LOP). Additionally, we can arrange transportation from Kuta Lombok or other remote areas for a small additional fuel surcharge to cover the distance.
12. Can I store my extra luggage during the trek?
Yes, you can safely store your suitcases or non-trekking items at our secure storage facility in Senaru Village. Thus, you only need to carry your essential trekking gear up the mountain. You will get your luggage back immediately once you finish the trek and return to our base.
13. Is there any electricity to charge my devices?
There are no power outlets or electricity available on Mount Rinjani. Therefore, it is vital to bring a high-capacity power bank (20,000mAh recommended) and extra batteries for your camera. Additionally, keeping your phone on airplane mode will help preserve battery life during the trek.
14. What is the policy regarding Altitude Sickness (AMS)?
Acute Mountain Sickness can affect anyone. Our guides are trained to recognize the symptoms early. If you feel unwell, you must inform your guide immediately. Usually, our approach is “climb high, sleep low,” but if symptoms persist, the guide will assist you in descending to a lower altitude safely.
15. How does Lombok Rinjani Moment handle garbage?
We are a 100% Eco-Friendly provider. We follow the “Pack It In, Pack It Out” principle. Our porters are tasked with collecting all trash generated by our group and carrying it back down to the National Park office in Senaru for proper recycling and disposal. We leave the mountain cleaner than we found it.
16. Tips for female hikers trekking during their period?
Trekking during menstruation is perfectly fine. However, we advise you to bring enough sanitary supplies and biodegradable waste bags. Since we follow a strict waste policy, you will need to bag your used products and keep them in your trash bag, which our porters will then carry down for disposal.
17. Are the Rinjani National Park permits included?
Yes, all our prices are inclusive of the official entrance fees and trekking permits (e-Rinjani). Furthermore, we handle all the administrative registration and online booking for you. You only need to provide us with a copy of your passport for the registration process.
18. Is it customary to tip the guides and porters?
Tipping is not mandatory, but it is a common practice and a wonderful way to show appreciation for the hard work of your local crew. Generally, if you are satisfied with their service, a tip at the end of the trek is very much appreciated by the guides and porters as it helps support their families.
19. Is there a minimum or maximum age for trekking?
We recommend a minimum age of 10 years old for children. For seniors, there is no strict upper limit as long as you are in excellent cardiovascular health and have no knee or joint issues. Ultimately, a medical check-up before your flight to Lombok is highly recommended for all participants.
20. What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellations made more than 14 days before the trek are eligible for a partial refund of the deposit. However, once the National Park tickets (e-permits) have been issued, that portion of the fee becomes non-refundable as per the TNGR regulations. We can, however, help you reschedule for a later date.
