Day 0 :

Arrival & Overnight Stay in Senaru Village

Upon arrival at Lombok International Airport, the harbor, or any other pickup location around Lombok Island (Senggigi, Kuta, Mataram), our Lombok Rinjani Moment team will warmly welcome you.Enjoy a scenic 2–3 hour drive to Senaru Village, passing through rice fields, tropical forests, and mountain landscapes.Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation and take time to relax in the cool mountain air.In the evening, our guide will conduct a short trekking briefing, check your equipment, and explain the route and safety guidelines for the next day’s adventure.

Day 1 :

Senaru – Sembalun – Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m)

After breakfast at 06:30, our team will transfer you to Sembalun Village (1,150 m), the official starting point of the trek.At the Mount Rinjani National Park registration office, you will meet your guide and porters before starting the hike around 08:00 AM.The trail begins with a gentle ascent through the open savanna of Sembalun, offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys.Take short breaks at:

Pos 1 (1,300 m) – Rest stop and light snackPos 2 Tengengean (1,500 m) – Quick stop for hydration

Pos 3 Pada Balong (1,800 m) – Lunch break and rest

After lunch, continue the trek through steeper terrain for about 3–4 hours to reach Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m) in the late afternoon.Enjoy breathtaking views of Segara Anak Lake, Mount Barujari volcano, and the sunset above the clouds.Dinner will be served, and you’ll spend the night in a tent at the crater rim with a stunning mountain atmosphere.

Day 2 :

Summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726 m) – Return to Sembalun Village – Transfer Out

Wake up early at 02:00 AM for a light breakfast (tea, coffee, biscuits) before starting the challenging climb to the Rinjani Summit (3,726 m).The trail is steep, sandy, and physically demanding, but reaching the top rewards you with a magnificent sunrise view over Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa — truly the highlight of your journey! 🌅After spending time at the summit, descend back to Sembalun Crater Rim for a full breakfast and short rest.Then continue descending through the same savanna trail back to Sembalun Village (1,150 m).Lunch will be served along the way, and you will arrive at Sembalun around 13:00–14:00 PM.Our driver will be ready to transfer you back to Senaru Village for another night’s rest or directly to your next destination (airport, harbor, or hotel) around Lombok Island.

This package follows the Sembalun route, which is the shortest and most direct trail to reach the Rinjani Summit (3,726 m). It is ideal for experienced hikers or those with limited time who want to reach the top of Mount Rinjani.

Will we camp overnight at Segara Anak Lake?

No. In the 2D/1N summit program, you will camp at Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m) on the first night, not at the lake. The itinerary focuses on reaching the summit and descending on the second day.

Will we visit the Hot Springs?

No, this short program does not include a visit to the Hot Springs or Segara Anak Lake due to limited time. To visit the lake and hot springs, we recommend joining our 3 Days 2 Nights or 4 Days 3 Nights programs.

How difficult is this 2D/1N hiking program?

This trek is considered hard or challenging. The trail to the summit is steep and sandy, especially during the final 3-hour climb from the crater rim. Good physical fitness and strong mental endurance are required.

What is the hardest part of this route?

The final ascent to the summit (around 3 hours) is the toughest part — a steep and slippery volcanic sand slope. However, the reward of watching the sunrise from the top makes every step worth it!

Why only climb via Sembalun and not descend through Senaru or Torean?

Since this is a short 2-day program, the itinerary focuses on efficiency and reaching the summit. Both ascent and descent are done through Sembalun route to save time while still providing a full Rinjani summit experience.

When is the best time to hike Mount Rinjani?

The best trekking season is from April to December, during the dry season. The national park is usually closed from January to March due to heavy rain and safety reasons.

Do I need to bring my own camping equipment?

No, you don’t need to. All camping gear, meals, and logistics (tent, sleeping bag, mattress, cooking set, etc.) are provided by Lombok Rinjani Moment. You only need to bring personal items like warm clothes, headlamp, and toiletries.
